Lists of oncological drugs
In this section, you will find two lists of cancer drugs:

Link to the ONKOportal.sk website which offers an updated overview of innovative oncological drugs registered by European Medicines Agency (EMA) with their clinical benefit assessed according to ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology), so-called ESMO-MCBS. If ESMO does not assign a score to a medicament, it is calculated according to ESMO methodology by National Oncology Institute. When ESMO adds the score, it gets updated according to ESMO-MCBS.
Onkoportal.sk provides a complex overview of cancer drugs, particularly their clinical benefit according to ESMO and their availability in Slovakia. The Ministry of Health of the SR updates the conditions of drug reimbursement each month at their website https://www.health.gov.sk/?zoznam-kategorizovanych-liekov and also publishes valid indication and prescription restrictions (file Part B: Indication restrictions). Given that the indication restrictions can be narrower than registered drug indication, this information is compared, evaluated and published at the Onkoportal.sk website.

List of oncological drugs prepared and regularly updated by National Oncology Institute in cooperation with a renowned international health information company IQVIA. The list offers an overview of all oncological drugs registered by European Medicines Agency (EMA) and their availability to physicians and patients in Slovakia.
The list gives an overview of approved drugs and drugs available as priority via standard categorization published at MoH SR website (https://www.health.gov.sk/?zoznam-kategorizovanych-liekov) valid from the first day of the current month. Besides the categorization list, the Ministry of Health of the SR also publishes current indication and prescription restrictions (file Part B: Indication Restrictions). Indication restrictions may differ from indications laid out in valid Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC).
Our list also includes drugs which have not been included in the standard categorization yet at the moment of data generation. At the moment, some molecules can be reimbursed beyond categorization (so-called exceptional cases). Up-to-date lists of these drugs are available on the web pages of Slovak health insurance companies.
